Hiking, Tennessee

David Crockett State Park

Named after—Davy Crockett. Remember the Alamo?

We all have a place. You know—that place you call home, whether you still live there or not. For me, it’s Lawrenceburg, TN. Small, quaint, and weird are all apt descriptors of this bucolic paradise! It wasn’t until I reached adult age that I truly respected some of the more beautiful things that the town offered. My favorite: David Crockett State Park or DCSP! The park is 1,319 acres of unspoiled beauty. It has waterfalls, firing ranges, an exercise facility, a museum, a swimming pool, a tasty restaurant, and so much more. The best part: the hiking trails. The trails are classified from easy to hard. Ok, maybe they’re not hard compared to some, but my friends and I climbed some hills that were very scary! I hope you enjoy the photos. If you ever make it to the small town I call “home,” check this place out!

Note: I had the privilege of taking my nephew who lives in Florida for his very first hike here. Also, a sweet little girl that I helped foster, we took some adorable Easter photos.
